Hi! My name is Mrs RLL, or The Mrs.
I am a 38 y.o. married to a 49 y.o. … both in our first marriage. I am also a 15 -year veteran counselor and marriage educator. Odd combo, huh? I figured it was just God’s sense of humor. I love doing marriage sessions, workshops, training, etc, but until 2008 I had never met any one I wanted to live with for the rest of my life.
My Mr and I always viewed our relationship as a journey, an adventure. We believe that every circumstance is simply a part of our adventure story that is continuously evolving and requiring us to make choices to honor each other and the goals for our home.
Because I am a marriage educator, I would love if there is something you can learn from the story I share. However, I will not bring you lessons about 5 points of good communication or 10 ways to reconnect with your spouse. There are plenty of wonderful blogs already teaching those great topics (For example, visit the-generous-husband, the-generous-wife, or The Marry Blogger).
Instead, I hope to reflect on how all those marriages lessons I’ve taught are impacting my heart and my marriage relationship, whether we get it right or not. I will attempt to walk a fine line between being respectful of our marriage and being truly honest about the transition from total independence to a life seeking to be “one” with another.
I hope you’ll join us for the adventure!
